Healthy marriages don’t happen by accident. They require work and dedication, but with the busyness of life and the pressures of culture it’s easy to lose focus. What is marriage supposed to look like when those initial bursts of excitement give way to everyday troubles and routines? This event will provide expert teaching and principles for a lasting relationship while challenging us to see the greater purpose of marriage—to glorify God and advance his gospel. Marriage is made for more than a fairy tale ending. It’s a picture of God’s hope and redemption for a world in need of rescue. We’ll be hearing from Les and Leslie Parrott (The Good Fight), Francis and Lisa Chan (You and Me Forever) and comedian Michael Jr. It will be a fun night of laughter, encouragement and learning about how we can glorify God in our marriages!
Childcare is available for children under 12, but you must individually register each child before the event! Click below to register yourself for the event, and then come back and register your kids for childcare that evening as well! Look forward to seeing you there!
Join Thursday May 2 for National Day of Prayer. We will be gathering together at 7:00pm in our Worship Center for a time of prayer, worship and reflection. There will be various prayer stations set up around the auditorium to help guide us in prayer for our nation, community, church and so much more!
The word refresh means – “to restore strengthen animation to” or “to freshen up” or “to restore or maintain by renewing supply.” Doesn’t that just sound great? What needs refreshing in your home? In your school? In your church? In your family? In your soul? In your walk with Christ Jesus?
As a church, we spent the last couple of years investigating and studying what Jesus wants His church to look like and demographic data collected from information in our area. We have seen that there is a need for us to press the Refresh button in our church’s life and in our directive. We must be willing to change to meet the needs of our community better and take on the directives that Jesus set out for us to live out.
So on Sunday, April 28th we will have a special day to find ourselves pressing the Refresh button of our church’s place in this area to a place where the kingdom of God advances through each of His individual people. On Sunday, April 28th we will gather for a special unified service. The day will begin with a light continental breakfast and fellowship time with each other starting at 9:00 AM and going until 10:15. We would encourage you to come and find yourself meeting new folks that you didn’t know, and enhancing old relationships as well. Then we will make our way into worship for a unified service that begins at 10:30 AM.
This service will be little longer and will remind us that allowing God’s hand to push the Refresh button on our own souls is what we need to move ahead. The message will be delivered from a special man of God who will deliver the message of Christ Jesus to our souls about what is next in our lives. His name is Kevin Stuckey.
Kevin is a Bi-vocational pastor/farmer. He works on a farm with his dad and his brother’s family and has also served as the preaching shepherd at the Leesburg Church of Christ since 2005. Kevin is a graduate of Cincinnati Christian University where he received his undergraduate and Master’s degree. Kevin is married to his wife Emma and they have two kids, Nora (5) and Paul (2).
Then we will receive a challenge to use this day to connect with one of the “neighbors” that we have come to discover are readily available in our area. The goal is to better connect with our neighbors who need and are looking for help from someone about their needs.
Place it on your calendar and lets make together this special moment in our church’s 56 year history to be more on purpose as we live and serve others with the good news of the gospel of Christ Jesus as we Refresh who we are to become for the kingdom.
Join us Easter Sunday at either our 9:30 or 11:00 service! Our 9:30 service will feature a more classic taste in music featuring our choir and a collection of traditional hymns. Our 11:00 service features our worship band and more modern selection of music. The sermon is the same both services and we will be wrapping up our series Seek and Find that Sunday! There is childcare available about both services as well! We will also have a photo booth set up so you can grab a family picture! We look forward to seeing you here!
Maundy Thursday, Holy Thursday and Covenant Thursday are all names for the Thursday before Easter where we traditionally remember the last meal Jesus had with His disciples before He was crucified. After Jesus and His disciples ate they went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray before He was arrested. We are going to take time this year to remember the time Jesus spent with His disciples in the garden. We will be spending time reading, praying and worshipping together as we put ourselves in that moment.
Weather permitting, we will be outside at our bonfire area starting at 7pm. Spring weather can still be a little chilly in the evening, so bring a blanket! We will have bleachers set up for seating, but you are also welcome to bring your own lawn chair if you’d like to! In the case of inclement weather we will be inside, but we will still be together! Afterwards (around 8pm) we will have supplies for s’mores and you can hang out and fellowship together as long as you’d like!
Join us as we celebrate Holy Week and prepare our hearts for what’s coming Easter Sunday!
From 2-6pm our building will be open for you to come through a Prayer Walk. There will be 14 different stations that will guide you in prayer for our community, family, missions and so much more! Come and go as you please and take as much or as little time as you need!
Then at 6pm the prayer stations will be closed as we gather in the auditorium for a Night of Worship together! We'll sing and take some time to pray together as one body! Then around 7pm the prayer stations will open back up until 9pm!
