Registration Opens September 1st for the 26th Season of Upward Sports at Fairfield Church of Christ!

EVALUATIONS AND ORIENTATIONS:

Everyone must attend their Basketball Evaluation/Draft or Cheer Orientation at the Fairfield Church of Christ Gym:

Basketball Evaluations for Kindergarten - 4th Grade (co-ed)
Saturday, October 10, 2026 between 9:00 and Noon

(Kindergarten – 4th Grade Basketball players will receive an email the week of September 28th to schedule their evaluation time)

If you register after or miss Evaluation Day (October 10th) you will be contacted to schedule a time to come in for an evaluation.

Cheer Orientation for all Cheerleaders  - - - Kindergarten - 8th Grade
‍ ‍Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM

(Cheerleaders will need to be here by 9:00 AM and stay the whole time during the Cheer Orientation)

5th and 6th Grade Basketball Drafts
Saturday, October 24th (times tentative, depending on # of teams)

7th - 9th Grade Girls Basketball Draft
Saturday, November 14th (times tentative, depending on # of teams)

                 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

7th and 8th Grade Boys Basketball Draft
Saturday, November 14th (times tentative, depending on # of teams)

1:00 - 2:30 PM 7th & 8th Grade Boys

ATTN: 7th - 9th GRADE PLAYERS: If you are planning to try out for your school team but want to have a back-up in case you don’t make it or decide not to try out, go ahead and register for Upward Basketball and choose the ‘Pay in Person’ option (you will pay by cash or check when you come for the Draft). Contact us to let us know that you are trying out for your school team and then again when you make your school’s team so we can open your spot up to the next person. In the past we’ve had a waiting list for these divisions, so there may not be room available on a team if you wait until after school try-outs to register. Spaces will not be held for any players without registration.

9th grade is only applicable for the girls’ division. We DO NOT have a 9th grade boys division and 9th grade boys are not eligible to play in the 7/8th boys division.  

If you are playing on an OHSAA (or equivalent, ie: IHSAA or KHSAA) school team you are not allowed to play on a rec team during the school season per OHSAA rules.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

The early registration cost child for:

Kindergarten – 4th Grade Basketball is $70 until noon on Friday, October 9th
Late Registration cost is $80 — includes walk-in registrations on Evaluation Day

Kindergarten – 8th Grade Cheer is $70 until noon on Friday, October 23rd
Late Registration cost is $80 — includes walk-in registrations for the Cheer Orientation

5th – 9th Grade Basketball is $80 until noon on the day before your Draft Late Registration cost is $90 — includes walk-in registrations on Draft Days

If you are playing on an OHSAA (or equivalent, ie: IHSAA or KHSAA) school team you are not allowed to play on a rec team during the school season per OHSAA rules.

LEAGUE SCHEDULE:

Practices begin Week of November 29, 2026

‍ ‍1st/2nd & 3rd/4th Grade Co-ed Basketball Teams will have one - one-hour practice each week

5th/6th & 7th/8th (9th) Grade Basketball Teams will have one 90-minute practice each week

ALL Kindergarten Basketball practices and games are on Friday evenings

ALL Cheer practices are on Thursday evenings

First Game - Friday, January 8, 2027 (Kindergarten Basketball) & Saturday, January 9, 2027 (1st - 9th Grade Basketball)

5th/6th and 7th/8th Grade Boys & 7th - 9th Grade Girls SOUL Tournaments - Week of March 1 - 6, 2027

End-of-Season Celebration - Sunday, March 7, 2027
